Sacco's Career Night Leads St. Norbert Past Concordia

DE PERE - St. Norbert College senior forward Dominick Sacco posted a career-high five points as the Green Knights rolled to a 7-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win over Concordia University Wisconsin at Cornerstone Community Center.

Sacco pumped in two goals and added three assists as the Green Knights rolled to their second consecutive win by a six-goal margin.

St. Norbert held a modest 1-0 lead after one period after Peyton Frantti's power-play goal 5:02 into the game gave the Green Knights the early lead.

The Green Knights added to their lead when Jack Thomas gained possession of the puck at the goal line and fed Sacco, who converted for the goal at 3:57 of the second period. Concordia would score its only goal of the game when Braydon Barker scored at 12:45 of the second, but the Green Knights would score twice moments later to retake control. Sacco scored his second marker of the night at 13:58, while Frantti then scored his second goal of the game just 47 seconds later for a 4-1 lead after two periods.

Luke Davison registered a power-play goal at 8:40 of the third period, followed by a goal from Ben Schmidling just 13 seconds later. Michael Spethmann closed out the scoring with a goal at 9:51.

Including Sacco, five Green Knights finished with multi-point games. Frantti had two goals, while Spethmann had one goal and one assist for two points. Tim Nicksic and Peter Bates each had two assists for two points.

St. Norbert held a 47-19 shots advantage, including a lopsided 22-7 margin in the third period. Colby Entz made 18 saves in making his first home start for the Green Knights. Bo Didur made 27 stops for the Falcons in the first 48:27, followed by Dakota Delbridge's 13 saves in relief.

The Green Knights were 2-for-3 on the power play, while the Falcons were 0-for-1,.
