More Records Fall for Green Knights at Carthage

KENOSHA - St. Norbert College set several new school record on the second day of competition at the Carthage College Classic at Koenitzer Aquatic Center.

Matt Trotter set new school marks in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly, while Killian Riley set a new standard in the 200-yard individual medley. Wayne King also turned in a new record in the 200-yard breaststroke. The 200-yard freestyle relay also eclipsed the previous mark.

Trotter turned in a time of 50.92 seconds to finish third in the 100-yard butterfly, topping the old mark of 51.04 seconds set last year by Ben Stolberg. Trotter also set a new mark in the 200-yard butterfly at 1:55.74 in a time trial, beating the old record of Jason Hunt, set last season at 2:04.14. Trotter added a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.44 seconds.

King finished with a preliminary time of 2:16.30 in the 200-yard breaststroke to break his own school record of 2:21.47. He then finished sixth in the final with a time of 2:17.43. King also set a new school mark in the 50-yard freestyle by swimming the first leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay in 21.30 seconds, nipping Stolberg's previous record of 21.59 seconds.

Killian Riley set his second school record in as many days with a preliminary time of 2:01.60 in the 200-yard individual medley, breaking his old record of 2:04.60. He then finished eighth in the final with a time of 2:02.98.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of King, Trotter, Jeffrey Green and Alex Cervantez finished in fourth place with a new St. Norbert record time of 1:27.59, breaking the old mark set last season by Stolberg, Green, Grant Gibson and Jed Galutira of 1:28.60.

The 400-yard medley relay of King, Riley, Trotter and Ray Scribano finished fifth place with a time of 3:43.74.

Green finished seventh in the 100-yard individual medley in 59.57 seconds. Sam Martin was ninth in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:19.71 and 10th in the 100-yard individual medley in 1:02.50.

The Green Knights continue with the last of three days at the Carthage Classic at 9 a.m. Saturday. St. Norbert is currently fifth among eight teams with 695 points, just 33 points out of fourth place.
