Thompson Resets School Record on Second Day at Carthage

KENOSHA - St. Norbert College freshman Sophia Thompson set a new school record as the Green Knights participated in the second day of the Carthage College Classic at Koenitzer Aquatic Center.

Thompson set a new record in the 100-yard butterfly, turning in a time of 1:03.12 to finish in 17th place and break the old record of 1:03.86, set in 2004-05 by Kristen Fresch.

Katelyn Holmstrom had the top individual finish with a third-place showing in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:32.36.

Natalie Norton finished in eighth place in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 5:34.97.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Amelia Wilcox, Rachel Koch, Holmstrom and Clare Santas finished in seventh place in 1:43:84. The Green Knights were 10th in the 400-yard medley relay when Jennifer Kubowski, Holmstrom, Thompson and Santas registered a time of 4:17.87.

The Green Knights continue with the final of three days at the Carthage Classic at 9 a.m. Friday. St. Norbert is in sixth place out of eight teams with 603 1/2 points heading into the final day of competition.
