St. Norbert Finishes Hilton Head Trip at 5-1

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - St. Norbert College concluded a solid spring trip to Hilton Head with a 7-2 dual win over Messiah College, an NCAA Division III Tournament participant last season.

The Green Knights improved to 11-8 with the win, and went 5-1 during spring break. St. Norbert carries a four-match winning streak into a double dual with Illinois College and Beloit College on April 4.

Matt Schmitz and Derek Harrington both extended their winning streaks to four with wins in singles play. Schmitz, now 11-4, topped Adam Sheir 6-2, 6-2 and No. 6. Harrington, now 10-9, beat Samuel Shorts 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2. Eric Koppman won for the second-straight match with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Luke Ruch at No. 3. Nate Tackaberry topped Mike Elliot 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4, while Ethan Kadow outlasted Andrew Wisler 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5.

Tackaberry and Harrington improved to 8-4 as partners with an 8-0 win over Ruch and Elliot at No. 2 doubles. Koppmann and Schmitz movevd to 9-4 as a tandem with an 8-3 win over Wismer and Sheir at No. 3.
