DE PERE - Ben Vanden Avond's goal with just over five minutes remaining lifted St. Norbert College to a 1-0 non-conference win over St. Mary's University at the Minahan Stadium Complex.

The Green Knights improved to 4-0 on the season, while the Cardinals dropped to 2-1.

Vanden Avond's goal came with just 5:01 left in the game. Vanden Avond took a pass into the box from Ryan Doucette, and then Vanden Avond beat St. Mary's goalkeeper Jon Szafranski far post for the game's only marker. It was Vanden Avond's third game-winning goal of the season.

St. Norbert outshot St. Mary's 10-5 and held the corner kicks advantage 6-2. Joe Schwartz made two saves to post the shutout for the Green Knights, while Szafranski made four stops for the Cardinals.
