Green Knights Dispatch Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College picked up a 4-0 win over Monmouth College in a Midwest Conference men's soccer match at Peacock Park.

The Green Knights scored a pair of goals in each half to improved to 9-4 overall and 4-2 in the MWC. Monmouth, which was outshot 23-7, fell to 2-10, 1-4.

Ben Vanden Avond scored his team-high ninth goal of the season off an Adam Sanchez assist at the 27 minute 38 seconds mark. Nick Hren followed with his third goal of the season at 36:19 for a 2-0 halftime lead.

The Green Knights scored quickly in the second half, with Donny Baloun scored his fourth goal of the season with an unassisted marker at 46:43. Mark Jasso scored off an assist from Baloun for his third score of the year at 73:03.

Joe Schwartz made four saves in 54:30 of work for St. Norbert, while Nolan Picchietti made three stops in 35:30 of relief. Owen Robinson made nine saves for Monmouth in 71:05 of action.
