Arndt named to third-team All-America squad

St. Norbert College senior defensive end Jay Arndt has been named to the 2007 All-America team. Arndt was a third-team selection at defensive end.

Arndt, a Green Bay native and a graduate of Ashwaubenon High School, was the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year this past season and was a first-team All-MWC pick for the second consecutive year. Arndt finished the season with 52 tackles in 11 games, but 19.5 of his tackles were for losses. He also finished with 6.5 quarterback sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Arndt had a season-high nine tackles in a 26-24 win over Carroll on Oct. 13, a game when he also posted four tackles-for-loss. Arndt also had 3.5 tackles-for-loss in a 40-11 win over Lawrence on Sept. 15 and 2.5 quarterback sacks in a 36-6 win over Lake Forest on Sept. 22.
