St. Norbert Settles For Tie at UW-Superior

SUPERIOR - A late UW-Superior goal left St. Norbert College and the host Yellowjackets to settle for a 1-1 tie in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Wessman Arena.

The Green Knights, ranked third in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, are now 17-3-3 overall and 12-2-2 in the NCHA. Superior is 9-10-4 overall and 3-10-3 in the NCHA.

Superior's Justin Faryna scored the game tying goal with just 2 minutes 7 seconds left in regulation on assists from Thomas Erlacher and Chad Blanleil. Faryna scored on a redirect out front off a pass from Erlacher.

St. Norbert almost made a 1-0 lead hold up for the entire game, after Peter Fylling scored his third goal of the season just 3:30 into the contest off an assist from Nick Tabisz. Fylling knocked in Tabisz's initial attempt for the goal, lifting it over Superior goaltender Bryan Dalbec.

The Green Knights had an opportunity to add to their lead when Superior's Kyle Clement received a five-minute checking-from behind penalty with 33 sceonds left in the second period. St. Norbert would come up empty on the major power play and finished 0-for-4 with the extra man for the game.

Superior outshot St. Norbert 26-22. The Green Knights' B.J. O'Brien made 25 stops, while Superior's Dalbec made 21 saves. The Yellowjackets were also 0-for-4 on the power play.
