St. Norbert Opens Spring Season at Knox Prairie Fire Classic

GALESBURG, Ill. - St. Norbert College opened the spring portion of its 2009-10 men's golf season with a 10th-place finish at the Knox Prairie Fire Classic held at Soangetaha Country Club.

The Green Knights finished in a tie for 10th place with Coe College with a total score of 666. St. Norbert shot a 328 the first day before settling on a 340 on day two. Monmouth College won the meet with a score of 609. Monmouth's Sean McNamara was the medalist with a six-over par 150.

Gabe Dahl led St. Norbert with a 161, shooting an 81 and 80. B.J. O'Brien, one week after setting a NCAA Division III Tournament record 70 saves in the national championship ice hockey game, fired an 81-87-168 for a 48th-place tie.

Brian Kuehl finished in a tie for 52nd with an 84-86-170. Arthur Mueller and Joe Hansen both tied for 59th with a 173. Mueller shot an 82 and 91, while Hansen finished with an 86 and 87.
