Green Knights Run to Second-Place Showing at Carroll

WAUKESHA - St. Norbert College's men's track and field team finished with a second-place showing at the Carroll University Invitational.

The Green Knights registered 141 points to finish behind host Carroll's 192.5 points. St. Norbert edged Concordia University Wisconsin, which finished in third with 137.5 points.

Dann Schneider set a school record in the 100-meter dash. Schneider ran a time of 10.84 seconds in preliminaries to set the mark. Schneider's time of 11.27 seconds in the finals was good for second to Greater Milwaukee Track Club's Centrell Minter's 10.83 seconds. Schneider did go on to win the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.06 seconds.

Seth Hawkins won the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:07.52, while Mackenzie Laska won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:52.72. Aaron Roden claimed the 5,000-meter run title with a time of 15:43.72. The 4x100-meter relay team also won, posting at time of 42.78 seconds.

Kevin Gries finished second in the 10K with a run of 35:03.01. John Barrett was second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:12.02. Jon O'Brien was second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:53.10. The 4x400-meter relay team was also runner-up with a time of 3:28.62.

In field events, Tony Dionne was second with a heave of 130 feet 10 inches in the discus. Dionne was third in the shot put at 41-7 3/4. Bryon Betts was third in the discus at 125-9.
