St. Norbert Tops Ripon, Falls to Grinnell

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College got its Midwest Conference North Division schedule off to a good start with a 9-0 win over Ripon College at Western Racquet. The Green Knights also dropped a non-conference match with Grinnell by a 9-0 score.

Against Ripon, Eric Koppmann had St. Norbert's largest margin of victory in singles action, posting a 6-0, 6-1 win over Sam Ewig at No. 2. Mike Hyrczyk and Matt Lobeck both posted 6-2, 6-1 wins. Hyrczyk beat Alex Tande at No. 4, while Lobeck bested Jake Knaapen at No. 5.

Derek Harrington beat Jay Hardacre 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Ethan Kadow posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Alex Tessman at No. 6. Nate Tackaberry beat Dan Rodriguez 7-5, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

In doubles action, Koppmann and Jordan Bauer beat Ewig and Tessman 8-2 at No. 2. Harrington and Tackaberry beat Hardacre and Rodriguez 8-4 at No. 1, while Hyrczyk and Matt Schmitz beat Tande and Knaapen 8-3 at No. 3.
