Green Knights Fall to Luther in NCAA Tennis Regional

ST. PETER, Minn. - St. Norbert College lost its first-round match in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship by a 5-0 score to Luther College at the Swanson Tennis Center at Gustavus Adolphus College.

The Green Knights, who earned the Midwest Conference's automatic berth after winning the league title in October, finished their regular season 8-8. Luther improved to 26-5.

The Norse swept the three doubles points. Luther's Katy Lindstrom and Fran Fairfield opened the action at No. 3 doubles with an 8-0 win over Maria Slusarek and Kristyn Klind. The Green Knights' Allyson Yankle and Erin Riutta followed at No. 2 with an 8-4 loss to Katie Nichols and Alana Humpal. Lauren Post and Kelly Van Handel also lost 8-4 at No. 1, falling to Kelsie Allen and Brynne Zinnecker.

Zinnecker beat Reardon 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles, while Humpal closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Yankle at No. 3 singles.
