Green Knights Finish Program-Best Second at MWC Championship

ROCKFORD, Ill. - St. Norbert College charged to its best-ever finish at the Midwest Conference Championship with a second-place showing at Aldeen Golf Club.

The Green Knights previously had five third-place finishes but topped it behind a 54-hole score of 348-356-347--1,051. St. Norbert shattered its 54-hole record at the MWC Championship by 69 strokes, previously topping the previous high of 1,120 in 2013. The final-round score of 347 is also a St. Norbert record at the MWC Championship.

St. Norbert's Megan Lau won the MWC Elite 20 Award for the women's golf championship for the second consecutive year. St. Norbert coach Susan Anstett was named Co-MWC Coach of the Year.

Grinnell College won the conference title with a 326-333-327--986, while the Pioneers' Vidushi Sinha won the individual title with a 7-over par 72-78-76--226.

Zjennai Vang led St. Norbert, finishing in a tie for fifth place with an 82-91-87--260. Amy Holzer finished in a tie for ninth place with an 89-89-87--265. Vang and Holzer were named All-MWC.

Kelsey Motto tied for 13th place with an 88-84-97--269. Elizabeth Bobinski finished in 15th place at 93-92-85--270. Jessica Dyksterhouse finished in 19th place with an 89-98-88--275, while Lau placed 22nd with a 94-92-94--280.
