St. Norbert Battles UW-La Crosse In Five-Set Defeat

LA CROSSE - St. Norbert College concluded a five-match run versus Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents with a tough 3-2 loss to UW-La Crosse in a non-conference match at Mitchell Hall.

The Green Knights (4-9), who went 2-3 in the five matches, fell to the Eagles 20-25, 25-27, 25-18, 25-21, 15-13. St. Norbert and La Crosse were deadlocked at 12-12 in the fifth set before the Eagles claimed three of the last four points.

Grace Baumann led St. Norbert's attack with 19 kills, while Halie Ferry added 16 kills. Haley Bartz added 11 kills for the Green Knights, who hit .156 (61-31-192). Emily Rohloff had 30 assists, while Danielle Dolan added 21 assists. Bartz and Ferry had two service aces apiece.

Maddy Miller posted a whopping 37 digs to pace the St. Norbert defense. Baumann had 21 digs and Ferry 11 digs.

La Crosse hit .197 (63-25-193) and was led by Marisa Johnson's 21 kills.
