Goals-A-Plenty as St. Norbert Tops Illinois College

DE PERE - St. Norbert College scored a season-high seven goals as the Green Knights cruised to a 7-1 win over Illinois College in a Midwest Conference game at Schneider Stadium.

The Lady Blues jumped ahead early with a goal at 7:23 by Katie Elmore. St. Norbert responded quickly with three goals before the 20-minute mark to take command. Enya Horgan scored twice - her first two goals of the season - with a pair of headers at 10:32 and 16:47. Emily Names followed with a goal at 19:41 on a shot from about 15 yards out, also her first goal of the season.

Hanna Lech put St. Norbert ahead 4-1 going into halftime with a point-blank shot at the 37:29 mark.

Monica Stephans scored twice early in the second half to break the game open. Stephans scored on a header at 49:04 and then finished a cross at 51:20 for her second and third goals of the season. Tori Renfus closed out the scoring with a finished cross at 56:24.

Lech had three assists in addition to her goal, while Stephans, Renfus, Morgan Kelly and Anja Jacobsen also had helpers.

St. Norbert outshot Illinois College 21-4 and held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks. Ally Magiera made one save for the Green Knights. Lindsey Kormelink and Ashley Brokaw combined for 10 stops for the Lady Blues.
