St. Norbert Can't Hold On at Knox

DE PERE - St. Norbert College scored the first goal of the match but couldn't hold on in a 2-1 loss to Knox College in the championship game of the Midwest Conference Tournament at Jorge Prats Field.

The Green Knights (8-11-1) scored at 22:51 when Madalyn Sanderfoot scored her 12th goal of the season off an assist from Dana Schwab.

Knox (13-4-3) struck twice in the last five minutes of the first half. Jessica Petersen scored at 40:08 and Brooklyn Deming pushed the Prairie Fire ahead with a marker at 42:14.

Knox ended up outshooting St. Norbert 18-7, including 8-2 in the second half. The Prairie Fire also had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Ally Magiera made six saves for the Green Knights, while Sierra Daniger made two stops for Knox.
