Green Knights Finish Second at Lawrence Invitational

APPLETON - St. Norbert College finished in second place out of seven teams in the team standings at the Lawrence University Gene Davis Invitational.

The Green Knights totaled 405 points, edging out Ripon College's 395 points. Lake Forest College won the team title with 652 points.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Jed Galutira, Jeffrey Green, Grant Gibson and Ben Stolberg captured a first-place finish by teaming up to post a time of 1:31.35.

Stolberg added a pair of third-place finishes in individual events, with a time of 49.82 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle and a time of 1:50.63 in the 200-yard freestyle. Galutira was third in the 100-yard backstroke in 58.15 seconds.

The 400-yard freestyle relay of Stolberg, Galutira, Gibson and Peter Martin was third with a time of 3:23.57, while the 200-yard medley relay of Jarod Meffert, Peter Martin, Alex Cervantez and Galutira was fourth in 1:46.04.

Gibson was fifth in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.14 seconds, while Green was eighth in 23.59 seconds. Martin finished in fifth place in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 18:00.23 and was sixth in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:10.52. Meffert was sixth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.71.

St. Norbert took fifth through seventh places in 1-meter diving. Jaxsen Schermacher was fifth with 260.40 points, Logan Stefl sixth with 218.60 points and Brian Meyer seventh with 187.80 points.

Jason Hunt had a pair of sixth-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly in 58.71 seconds and the 200-yard butterfly in 2:25.74. Cervantez was seventh in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:28.69 and eighth in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.02.

Gibson was eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.62, while Green was eighth in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.59 seconds.
