Green Knights Settle for Tie at Augsburg

MINNEAPOLIS - St. Norbert College had to settle for a 3-3 overtime tie in the second game of a non-conference series with Augsburg University at Augsburg Ice Arena.

The Green Knights (8-3-2), playing their sixth overtime game of the season, held a 3-2 lead going into the third period. Augsburg converted on the only power-play chance of the third period on a marker by Luke Dietsch at the 12:06 mark.

St. Norbert outshot Augsburg 5-2 in the overtime period.

The Auggies (9-1-2) took the lead on a goal by Dietsch at 8:54 of the third period. The Green Knights tied the score at 15:54 on a goal by Riley Christensen, his seventh of the season. Augsubrg answered with a shorthanded goal by Jake Larson at 18:37, but St. Norbert scored on the same power play just 29 seconds later on a Roman Uchyn score, his sixth of the year.

Peter Bates had the only goal of the second period, finishing a power-play for his fourth goal of the season.

Uchyn had an assist, while Luke Davison had two assists for St. Norbert multi-point games.

Augsburg outshot St. Norbert 41-38. Ryan Bontorin made 38 saves for the Green Knights, while Nick Schmit turned away 35 shots for the Auggies.

St. Norbert was 2-for-5 on the power play, while Augsburg was 1-for-3.
