St. Norbert In Fourth Place After First Day at MWC Championship

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College resides in fourth place after the first of three days of competition at the Midwest Conference Swimming and Diving Championship at Grinnell College's Osgood Pool.

The Green Knights have 101 points, just 17 points behind third-place Monmouth College's 118 points. Lake Forest College is in first place with 245 points, while Grinnell is in second with 236 points.

Ben Stolberg had the Green Knights' highest individual finish, placing third in the 50-yard freestyle. Stolberg turned in a time of 21.59 seconds. Grant Gibson was 10th in 22.10 seconds, while Jed Galutira was 16th in 22.28 seconds.

Jaxsen Schermacher placed fourth in 3-meter diving, totaling 302.35 points.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Stolberg, Jeffrey Green, Gibson and Galutira was fifth in 1:28.60. The 400-yard medley relay of Jarod Meffert, Green, Jason Hunt and Alex Cervantez was eighth in 3:44.12.

Peter Martin was 11th in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:51.86, while Cervantez was 12th in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:05.50.
