Relay Reaches Medal Stand to Lead Green Knights on Second Day of MWC Championship

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College's 800-yard freestyle relay reached the medal podium to pace the Green Knights on the second day of the Midwest Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at Grinnell College's Osgood Pool.

The quartet of Kirsten Williams, Sarah Vigil, Emily Frey and Clare Santas finished in third place in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:30.93 to finish with a bronze medal, the first this season for the Green Knights.

Miranda Wilson, Williams, Haley Wagner and Frey were fifth in the 200-yard medley relay, posting a time of 1:57.88.

Santas finished eighth in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.05. Wilson was eighth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:03.63, while Brittney Zimmer was 13th in 1:07.98.

Wagner was tenth in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:06.59, with Kaitlyn Herman finishing 14th in 1:18.64. Williams was 11th in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:12.56, while Vigil was 15th in 1:17.38.

St. Norbert sits in fifth place in the team standings after the second of three days of competition. The Green Knights have 152 points. Grinnell is in first place with 700 points, while Lake Forest College is second with 467 points, Lawrence University is third with 426 points and Illinois College is fourth with 225 points.
