Green Knights Drop NCHA Playoffs Series Opener

ADRIAN, Mich. - St. Norbert College lost its first game in a best-of-two Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Playoffs first-round series by a 9-1 score to Adrian College at Arrington Ice Arena.

The Green Knights can win the series with a win in Game 2 and a win in a 20-minute mini-game that would follow.

Adrian scored five first-period goals to take control. St. Norbert scored its lone goal of the game 20 seconds into the third period off an assist from Lauren Michael.

The Bulldogs outshot the Green Knights 36-14. Anais Aurard made 19 saves in 40 minutes for St. Norbert with Audrey Moore making eight saves in the third period. Denisa Jandova made 13 saves for Adrian.

St. Norbert was 0-for-2 on the power play, while Adrian was 0-for-1.
