St. Norbert Finishes Florida Trip With Pair of Wins

CLERMONT, Fla. - St. Norbert College wrapped up its annual trip to Florida with a pair of victories, posting an 8-2 win over Macalester College and a 9-1 triumph over St. Lawrence University.

The Green Knights wrap up their 10-game trip to Florida 6-4, winning six of their last eight games.

St. Norbert used a six-run second inning to take control against Macalester, scoring all its runs after two outs. Morgan Moxon had an RBI single, followed by a run later scoring on an infield error. Randi Morack stroked a two-run double, while Carley Frauenhoff followed with a two-run double of her own for a 6-0 lead.

Macalester got a run back in the second inning, with the score holding up at 6-1 until the sixth inning. St. Norbert got a run home in the sixth on an RBI double by Morack. Macalester scored again in the sixth but St. Norbert closed out the scoring when Emma Molenhouse drove in a run on a groundout.

Molenhouse scattered nine hits in the complete-game win, striking out six with no walks.

Ashley Zimmerman was 4-for-4, Morack was 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a pair of doubles.

St. Norbert used another big inning to get the win over St. Lawrence, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Frauenhoff had an RBI groundout, followed by a run coming home on an outfield error. Sarah Koltermann then launched a three-run home run for a 5-0 lead. Two runs scored later in the inning thanks to a pair of St. Lawrence fielding errors.

The Green Knights added a run in the second inning on a Abigail Chada RBI single. St. Lawrence scored a run in the top of the fifth inning, but the Green Knights ended the game on the eight-run rule when Taylor Ullman had a run-scoring single.

Ellie Olsen got the win for the Green Knights, yielding just five hits with one walk and nine strikeouts in a complete-game effort.

Chada and Ullman were both 2-for-3, while Frauenhoff was 2-for-4.
