Green Knights Cruise to Carroll Invitational Title

WAUKESHA - St. Norbert College comfortably rolled to the team title of the Carroll University Invitational, scoring in 18 of the 19 contested events.

The Green Knights totaled 184 points to easily outdistance runner-up Carthage College's 135 points. Carroll was third with 122 1/2 points.

St. Norbert registered six first-place finishes. Sara DeGroot set a new St. Norbert outdoor record by winning the pole vault at 11 feet 1 3/4 inches. Clara Yoap won the 3,000-meter run in 11:07.32, while Joyana Tarsa claimed the 1,500-meter run in an even five minutes. Audrey Makope took the 100-meter dash in 12.72 seconds, while Maddie Lebrun won the other short sprint with a 200-meter time of 26.86 seconds. Sarah Duff won the 400-meter dash in 59.10 seconds.

The 4x100-meter relay of Audrey Makope, Lebrun, Duff and Sydney Zima was second in 50.35 seconds, while the 4x400-meter relay of Emelia Lichty, Lauren Rottier, Hayley Winzenried and Sarah Wiseman was also second in 4:18.49.

Haidyn Mueller was second in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles with times of 15.31 seconds and 1:12.48, respectively. Morgan McClone was second in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.34, while Kelley Gardipee was second in the 800-meter run in 2:20.20.

Katherine Wanie was third in the long jump at 16-7 3/4 and was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.88 seconds. Audrey Moore placed third in the pole vault at 9-8 and Sydney Moore was third in the high jump at 4-9. Wiseman was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.82 seconds, fifth in the 200-meter dash in 27.95 seconds and eighth in the long jump at 15-10 1/4.

Sydney Zima was fourth in the long jump at 16-2 1/2, with Elle Dannecker finishing fourth in the 3,000-meter run in 12:14.55. Kristina Herman was fifth in the shot put at 37-1 3/4 and Savanna Smith was fifth in the hammer throw at 137-2. Anna Giblin was fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:14.93 and was seventh in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.62 seconds. Cora Purdue was fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:28.24.

Emily Beltran finished sixth in the 3,000-meter run in 12:23.85, while Claire Van Beek was sixth in the 400-meter run at 1:03.92. Gretchen Price was seventh in the 1,500-meter run in 5:21.02, while Elisabeth Klumpyan was eighth in 5:21.57. Lichty was seventh in the 100-meter dash in 13.41 seconds, while Rottier was seventh in the javelin throw at 97-0. Carolyn Neerdaels finished eighth in the 5,000-meter run in 20:04.40.
