Schermachers Lead Green Knights In Pole Vault

RIPON - Jaxsen and Max Schermacher led St. Norbert College's performances in the Green Knights' appearance at the Ripon College Invitational at Willmore Center.

The Green Knights competed with a split-squad, with mostly field events traveling to Ripon. Track events competed at the UW-Whitewater Invitational. The Green Knights were third out of 18 teams at Ripon with 59 points, and finished ninth with 11 points at Whitewater.

Jaxsen Schermacher won the pole vault with a height of 15 feet 1 inch. That clearance was nearly a foot more than Max Schermacher's 14-1 1/4, which was good enough for second place.

Oren Kestell led a trio of top-eight finishers in the high jump, finishing third at 6-2 3/4. Robby Cicciarelli was fifth at 6-0 3/4 and Noah Kleiman was seventh in 5-8 3/4. Kestell was fourth in the long jump at 21-9, while Jaxsen Schermacher was fifth at 21-6. Kleiman added a seventh-place finish the 60-meter hurdles at 9.09 seconds.

Samuel Fletcher finished in fourth place in the 400-meter dash at 53.13 seconds. Karter Decker was fifth in the triple jump at 42-5 1/2, while Fletcher was fifth at 42-5 1/4. Mckenzie Foege was eighth at 39-7 1/4.

Eric Herman finished seventh in the shot put at 43-4 1/2, while adding an eighth-place showing in the weight throw at 41-5 3/4.

At the UW-Whitewater Invitational, the distance medley relay of Miles Mulder, Ethan Sowl, Lorenz Jordan and Connor Sisel won with a time of 11:16.01. Ryan Priebe added an eighth-place time of 51.35 seconds in the 400-meter dash.
