An ongoing shortage of nursing staff in the state and waiting lists at many nursing schools has made a
new nursing program doubly attractive for students looking for the best of two worlds.
St. Norbert’s innovative partnership with Bellin College of Nursing enters its second year this fall. The partnership means students can benefit from the experience of living and learning at a liberal arts college while earning their
Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Bellin.
Prospective students still have time to
enroll—applications for the no-waiting-list program will be accepted through July 1.
Students will be enrolled at both schools, living at St. Norbert with their peers in the program and taking their general education courses on campus.
A successful first year for this joint program has built on the solid reputation already enjoyed by the two colleges. Bellin ranks as one of the top nursing programs in Wisconsin in terms of first-time pass rate. St. Norbert has a four-year graduation guarantee and is recognized among the best liberal arts colleges in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
Federal projections anticipate that Wisconsin could find itself with 13 percent fewer nurses than needed by 2020. The Bellin/St. Norbert agreement will provide well-prepared candidates to help address this critical need in the state.
