Update to faculty and staff: Responding to your questions and concerns

March 13, 2020

We understand that the last two weeks have been trying for all on our campus, and we are grateful for the support you’ve been giving to our students and to each other as we work together to maintain the health and well-being of all in our community.

As we anticipated Spring Break, our first priority as a college was to make sure students were well-equipped and prepared for alternative modes of course delivery as they leave campus so that we could ensure their continued academic progress.

As faculty and staff, your health and well-being also are extremely important to us. We know there are many important questions yet to answer, and we are working to respond to your questions and concerns. We understand, too, that the governor’s decision to close K-12 schools in Wisconsin from Wednesday will impact many of your families. We are reviewing our work-from-home, vacation and PTO policies, and also taking in new information from the government related to FMLA. It’s important to know that the college will remain open and will continue providing our full range of student services in ways that are viable and easy to access.

We recognize the anxiety and emotional strain that these circumstances may place on all of us. If you or one of your immediate family members would like to talk to a counselor, please use our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefit. More information is available here.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to navigate this difficult situation. If you have unanswered questions, or topics you would like us to consider, you can reach out to your supervisor or submit them to covid19response@snc.edu.
