A Timely Warning Notification: COVID-19 positive case on campus

July 1, 2020 – Last updated on July at 2:51 p.m.

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

We are writing to let you know that a member of our St. Norbert College community has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

The SNC community member self-reported the positive test result to the college, and this positive result has been confirmed. The community member who has tested positive has been isolated and close contacts have been identified, contacted and quarantined in collaboration with local public health. The SNC community member has not come in contact with any building location during the time of communicability.

Since the spread of the COVID-19 virus began, the college has been anticipating and planning for cases on campus. This is the college's first confirmed case but it is unlikely to be the last, given what we know about the spread of this virus. The health and wellbeing of our campus and wider community is our primary concern. We are grateful for your continuing help in preventing the spread of COVID-19 at St. Norbert College and your vigilance in practicing these routine preventive measures recommended by De Pere Health Department and SNC Health Services:

  • Physical distancing
  • Hand hygiene
  • Enhanced cleaning practices
  • Wearing cloth face coverings when in public

This one-time communication is a federally required safety notification to comply with the Clery Act. Ongoing updates related to COVID-19 are provided at https://www.snc.edu/covid19/. We are not required to communicate with the campus specifically regarding each or any subsequent individual case. But we will continue to inform you regularly about the general state of health across campus.
