An update on COVID-19 and our community

Oct. 4, 2020

Dear SNC campus community,

We want you to be aware that Brown County health agencies have issued a joint public health COVID-19 advisory in response to the high level of COVID-19 cases in our region. As a result of the COVID-19 health and safety protocols we instituted at the beginning of the fall semester and the recent implementation of the Safer at SNC guidelines, the number of cases currently impacting the campus is low.

At this time, we are:

  • Maintaining the existing Safer at SNC guidelines through at least Monday, Oct. 12. In-person course instruction and in-person dining services will continue as we are not seeing spread in either of these settings.
  • Encouraging supervisors to continue with safe workplace practices including being flexible with remote work, meeting virtually and employing scheduling that discourages excessive in-person interaction.
  • Reinforcing the importance of following our existing guidelines for off-campus community-engaged learning or service. Our students should only be conducting work with community partners who follow the health guidelines set forward by the college. Any student with questions about their off-campus learning or service sites should reach out to their faculty or staff leader.

We remain in frequent contact with De Pere public health officials who support the college’s plans to continue with in-person instruction.

In the spirit of the common good and guided by the moral tradition of the Church, we ask you to do your part to care for the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of the members of our campus community and those in our wider region by following the new guidelines set forth by local public health authorities. And, as always, please continue following these basic critical protocols:

  • Wear face coverings
  • Maintain physical distance
  • Wash your hands
  • Stay home when sick
Working together, we can continue to safely navigate the COVID-19 pandemic at SNC.
