Suspension of 2020-21 hockey and men’s volleyball seasons due to COVID-19

Dec. 21, 2020

Dear students, faculty and staff,

On Dec. 3, we let you know of the suspension of athletics competition for our Green Knights teams competing in the Midwest Conference and pending decisions for other teams. Today, we have more information to share about men’s and women’s hockey, and men’s volleyball. The college will not participate in the 2020-21 men’s and women’s hockey season, or the men’s volleyball season due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

While we know this is disappointing news, it reflects our college-wide commitment to the health and well-being of our student-athletes and the rest of our St. Norbert College community.

As a result of these decisions, student-athletes on the affected teams will no longer need to move in early; they should plan on moving in with the rest of their classmates for the start of the spring semester on Feb. 1, 2021.

As previously shared, coaches will continue to support, develop and engage their individual student-athletes and teams during the spring semester, including through practices, performance training, leadership training and by supporting the academic experiences of their athletes.

More information can be found on the athletics website.

If you have further questions about this temporary suspension of competition, please contact covid19response@snc.edu.

Sincerely,

Jenn Bonds-Raacke, Ph.D.
