We’re one month in! Let’s maintain our resolve

March 1, 2021

Dear SNC community,

Welcome to month two of spring semester! Can you believe it’s already March, that we’ve been living and learning through this pandemic for nearly 12 months, and that we have just 10 weeks until we close out this challenging but remarkable academic year?

Today, I simply write to say how proud I am to see so many students, faculty, and staff putting others first and meticulously observing the health policies that are keeping our community safe. I know how easy it is to become fatigued yet remain fully confident that together we each will continue to put in the hard work—a collective effort that will allow us to celebrate a successful, in-person conclusion to the year. And, we will celebrate! More on that later.

In the meantime, we continue to depend on each and every one of you to do your part: avoid gathering in large groups, watch your distance when you’re with others, wear your masks, and wash your hands.

Students, we also continue to depend on you to follow the Safer at SNC plan and keep the groups you meet and dine with small. Your efforts do not go unnoticed! I was proud to learn that you complied with our entry-testing requirement and continue to do the same with surveillance testing. Faculty and staff around campus are noticing your commitment, excited to again be handing out COVID Cash when you are “caught” following safety guidelines. Keep up the great work and earn prizes along the way.

Fellow Green Knights, our desire to stay together is strong. We’ve adapted to this new environment, but we must not become complacent. We have 67 days until the end of the 2020-21 academic year. Today I ask that we each stay vigilant. As we do so, I am confident we will be able to remain on-campus for in-person instruction through the end of the academic year, a goal important to every single one of us.

Your choices, every day, matter and are being noticed far beyond campus. In fact, they are the envy of colleges and universities across the nation. Let’s continue to do what it takes to inspire others to keep asking “how did they do it?!” I know how we did it: We did it together, in communio.

Go Green Knights!

With great faith and determination,

Brian
