Indoor masking update

Aug. 1, 2021

Students, faculty and staff,

In the campus communication sent Friday about the college's COVID-19 plans, we included this strategy around masking indoors: "If Brown County is considered an area of substantial or high transmission, then — in accordance with CDC guidelines, to maximize protection from the Delta variant of COVID-19 and to prevent possibly spreading the virus to others — all community members and visitors will wear masks indoors."

At the time these guidelines were shared, Brown County had a moderate level of transmission. With this weekend's update, that level has increased to substantial.

For this reason, effective Monday, Aug. 2, masks are required indoors for persons vaccinated or unvaccinated. This requirement applies at all times, except when one is in their personal work or living space. Masks remain optional outdoors.

We will continue to monitor this situation and make updates as appropriate.

We recognize that some college members may not see this update before their arrival to campus on Monday. Please continue to show respect and care as we help one another become aware of this requirement.
