2018-19 Title and Total Compensation Study

St. Norbert College’s strategic plan initiative 3.1 is about offering competitive pay and benefits. Carlson and Dettmann Consulting is helping us review our current compensation plan and working with the project team below to make recommendations to the president’s cabinet based on market findings, pay structure, range spreads, preliminary grade order/classification review, job title options and career progression.

Timeline

Nov. 2018 Consultant discusses the scope of work of the project with the president’s cabinet, staff association and the project team.
Feb. 2019 Consultant discusses the job evaluation with president’s cabinet, staff association and the project team. HR provides the consultant with job descriptions or job description questionnaire for evaluation.
March 2019 Consultant discusses market findings, pay structure, range spreads, preliminary grade order/classification review, job title options and career progression recommendations with the president’s cabinet, staff association and the project team. The project team makes a recommendation to the president’s cabinet on these topics.
April 2019 Consultant works with project team to define market position objectives, pay policy and implementation plan including roll-out options. Consultant evaluates student worker compensation. Project team makes recommendations to president’s cabinet regarding these topics.  Meeting and Project Notes
