Rachel McCaskill

Instruction and Academic Engagement Librarian

Rachel McCaskill serves as the instruction and academic engagement librarian for the Mulva Library. She holds a B.A. in theatre performance from North Carolina Central University and a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Rachel has previously worked as a librarian or library fellow at the University of Arizona, Penn State University and Virginia Commonwealth University libraries before accepting her current position at St. Norbert College in 2019.

At St. Norbert, Rachel works to bridge the world of faculty with that of students, via the library’s priority for information literacy and fluency education. Her work is centered on engaging with faculty through relationship building, lesson plan development and storyboarding, and creating opportunities that support well-rounded lifelong learners. Rachel’s chief research interests include equity and justice in academic libraries, advancing technology and innovation in teaching and accessibility.
