De Pere: The St. Norbert Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Bruce D. Tychinski, will present the fourth annual Big Band Snowball Friday, March 4 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. in the Sensenbrenner Memorial Union upstairs lounge. The Big Band Snowball will include ballroom dancing, gourmet desserts, door prizes, cash bar and live music. The St. Norbert College Jazz Ensemble will perform hits from the 1930s and 40s such as In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, April in Paris and many more. Dance instruction from the J. Powell Dance Studio will be given at two points during the evening. The night of music and dancing is being held to help fund a guest artist for the jazz ensemble, Mike Plog, an Ashwaubenon alumnus, who will come to St. Norbert College in April to present educational lectures to music students and perform with the St. Norbert College Jazz Ensemble on April, 22nd. The jazz ensemble and Plog will also present a world premiere performance of a composition by Chicago-based composer, Tom Matta. Tickets are $11 per person and can be purchased through the St. Norbert College Box Office (920) 403-3950. Seating is limited. Advance tickets are recommended, but remaining tickets will be available at the door. For more information, contact the St. Norbert College Music Department (920) 403-3112 or Bruce Tychinski (920) 403-3246 or email bruce.tychinski@snc.edu.
