St. Norbert College hires new director of music

Sarah Parks is the new director of Music at St. Norbert College. She will conduct the choral ensembles and teach choral music education methods courses. Parks taught for thirteen years in the music department at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, receiving the 2008 Outstanding Teaching Award within the Humanities and Fine Arts Division of the College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to teaching at UWRF, she spent five years teaching choral and general music at the middle and high school levels. In addition to teaching, Parks is an active stage performer. Some of her favorite roles included Mrs. Potts in "Beauty and the Beast," Hazel Hunt in "Radio Gals," Sour Kangaroo in "Seussical," Pitti-Sing in "The Mikado," and the Beggar Woman in "Sweeney Todd."
Parks is an active choral clinician and voice adjudicator throughout the Midwest. Her college choirs have toured both regionally and internationally, including performance tours to France, Holland, Italy, Spain, and Hawaii. Parks is an active member of the Music Educators National Conference, the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the American Choral Directors Association.
