St. Norbert College to host first-ever "SNC Day"

St. Norbert College is opening its doors to the community on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the colleges first-ever "SNC Day."

The purpose of this event is to bring people to campus so they can learn more about what the college has to offer, including food, entertainment, boat rides, mini-lectures and lots of fun activities for all ages.

St. Norbert is collaborating with the De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce for this event. Events on the west side of the river will be hosted by the college. The De Pere Chamber will be hosting Fall Fest on the east side of the river.

De Pere Mayor Mike Walsh, Chamber of Commerce president, Cheryl Detrick and St. Norbert College president Thomas Kunkel will lead the opening ceremony at 10 a.m. at the west end of the Claude Allouez Bridge. A Color Guard and a parade of international flags representing all of the home countries of St. Norbert College's current international students will open the events.

There will be something for everyone at SNC Day, and Fall Fest. Here's a small sampling:

Food
Area restaurants will be setting up sidewalk cafes throughout the city. Stop and sample their menu items. There will be grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and booyah offered on the patio at Sensenbrenner Memorial Union, St. Norbert College.

There will be free popcorn and lemonade available while you enjoy the music in the gazebo and wait for your boat ride down the Fox River. Other beverages are available for purchase. Phil's Restaurant will be open, offering a variety of grilled and snack items in Ray VanDenHeuvel Family Campus Center, St. Norbert College.
St. Norbert College alumni tent will have Cold Stone Creamery ice cream available. The tent will be located in the center of campus.

There will be coffee, muffins and snacks are available in Ed's Caf
