Christmas concerts with St. Norbert College

The St. Norbert College music department presents the Festival of Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in St. Norbert College's Walter Theatre, Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, and the Brass and Organ Christmas Spectacular on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. at the St. Norbert Abbey. Admission is $18 for the Festival of Christmas and a gourmet holiday dessert reception in the Sensenbrenner Memorial Union. Tickets for the concert only are available for $10. Admission is free for the Brass and Organ Christmas Spectacular. Both events are open to the public. All tickets for events held in Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts are subject to a $1.00 per ticket Facility Fee. The Facility Fee is used to improve and enhance the Hall of Fine Arts.

The Festival of Christmas will feature performances by the St. Norbert College Concert Band, directed by Michael Knight, assistant professor of music; Chamber Singers, directed by Sarah Parks, assistant professor of music; Women's Chorus, directed by Parks; Men's Chorus, directed by Michael Rosewall; the Wind Ensemble, directed by Knight; and the premier of the St. Norbert College Bell Choir, directed by Linda Cook. Elaine Moss, adjunct instructor of music, will accompany the ensembles.

A gourmet holiday dessert reception will follow the concert in the Sensenbrenner Memorial Union, with music provided by the St. Norbert College Jazz Band, conducted by Eric High, assistant professor of music.

The Brass and Organ Spectacular will feature various faculty members playing brass as well as the St. Norbert College Chamber Singers, Women's Chorus, and Men's Chorus. Fr. Michael Frisch, O.Praem., member of the Norbertine Order of Priests and Brothers, will be featured on organ. The performers will play a wide range of holiday music.

Donations are welcomed to support the Norbert "Nubbie" Ecker Chamber Music Endowment Fund, to help ensure that chamber music grows and flourishes at St. Norbert College and in the Green Bay and De Pere area.
