DE PERE: St. Norbert Abbey, 1016 N. Broadway De Pere, will host concert organist Peter Richard Conte Saturday, April 17 at 2 p.m. as part of the John Bruce Organ Concert Series. The concert is open to the public and admission is $5, payable at the door. Conte is highly regarded for his skill as a performer, arranger of organ transcriptions, and for his unique and varied programs. He has been featured several times on National Public Radio and on ABC national television's "Good Morning America." Conte has performed throughout the United States as well as a number of times in England, including a recital at St. Paul's Cathedral, London. John Tuttle, University of Toronto & St. Thomas Church, Toronto, Ontario said, "Conte is a genius." Father Bruce, a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Fond du Lac, was a close friend of St. Norbert Abbot Sylvester Killeen, O. Praem., and an honorary member of the Norbertine Order. The memorial concerts were established in his name at St. Norbert Abbey.
