De Pere: The St. Norbert College Philanthropy and Development Institute is offering a four-part Insights of Committed Donors course March 16 from 6-9 p.m. and March 23, April 6, and April 13 from 7-9 p.m. in the Sensenbrenner Memorial Union. The course is intended for development officers, executive directors, board members, pastors, volunteers and others representing non-profit, educational or religious organizations. The Insights of Committed Donors course will review research and experiences of individual philanthropists and corporate and foundation giving officers in order to determine what motivates a donor to get involved with an organization. The course will also include discussion of the psychology of giving and receiving, effective donor cultivation strategies, and how to thank donors. The instructor is Ken Strmiska, President and CEO of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation. The cost of the course is $139 and equals .9 CEUs.
