The Dudley Birder Chorale will present its traditional "America Sings" concert as the conclusion of its 2015-16 season. The concert will take place on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 in the Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the St. Norbert College campus; both shows will take place at 7:30 p.m.

The program will open with a patriotic salute arranged and conducted by Dudley Birder, titled "In Memoriam: September 11, 2001." Assistant Chorale director Kent Paulsen will provide piano accompaniment. From there, the Chorale will go on to present a taste of Broadway with songs from several hit musicals, including "Les Misérables," "Showboat" and "Man of La Mancha," as well as Broadway medleys featuring the music of Judy Garland, George Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein and Walt Disney. The program will also include John Rutter's popular song "Feel the Spirit."

The May 6 concert will additionally feature a performance by the winner of the 2016 Carol and Robert Bush Choral Music Award. The award is presented annually to an outstanding high school junior or senior in northeast Wisconsin, as determined through a competitive audition before a panel of judges.

Founded in 1974, the Dudley Birder Chorale is composed of members from more than 30 northeast Wisconsin communities. The chorale performs three to four concerts annually, including regular concerts with the Green Bay Symphony.

Tickets for the concert are $23 for rows A-U and $18 for rows V-Z. They can be purchased online at http://www.tickets.snc.edu, by phone at (920) 403-3950, or in person at the door. The St. Norbert College Box Office applies a $2 per order fee to online ordering and return mailing of tickets, and a $2 per ticket fee to exchange or re-printing of tickets. Tickets for events held in the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts are subject to a $1 per ticket fee used to improve the continued use of the facility.
