St. Norbert College honored Paul Mashl, director of theatre facilities, at its President's Dinner on Wednesday, Aug. 24.

Each year, St. Norbert College honors a staff employee (hourly or salaried) with the Exceptional Service Award for service above and beyond normal work expectations at the college. Mashl, nominated by faculty and staff, received this year's Exceptional Service Award.

Mashl plays a vital role in how St. Norbert College is perceived by visitors to on-campus events. As director of theatre facilities, he supports all facets of the college's theatre studies program and student productions, staging events in campus venues such as Walter Theatre and Dudley Birder Hall. He most recently accepted responsibility for the new Next Stage program, an initiative offering college-level music theatre opportunities for high school students. He is the go-to person for large events held on campus such as Commencement and Convocation. Mashl is also a mentor to students, providing instruction and guidance as they learn aspects of facility and theatre management.
