St. Norbert College Music Theatre has scheduled open auditions for its upcoming production of "A Chorus Line." For those who prefer to audition during the daytime, a special afternoon audition will be held on Sunday, April 30 at 2 p.m. Evening auditions will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 16 and 17. Both will take place in the Walter Theatre. "A Chorus Line" requires an ensemble cast of 30 singer-dancers, 19 of whom play specific roles. Those auditioning should sing a selection of their choice, providing music for the staff accompanist. (A prepared tape is also acceptable.) All should come prepared to dance, wearing comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes. Each person will also be asked to read a short monologue from the script. A minimum amount of rehearsal time is scheduled for the production, beginning on May 18, and concluding with a final dress rehearsal on June 6. There will be no rehearsals on May 22, 28 and 29. Seven performances will be held in the Walter Theatre on June 7-10 and 13-15 at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday 2 p.m. matinee on June 11. For additional information, please contact Dudley Birder at (920) 403-3116. Tickets for "A Chorus Line" and Music Theatre's July production of "The King and I" are now available at the St. Norbert College ticket office, (920) 403-3950 or 1-800-762-2699.
