Jody Plauche, a survivor and advocate against sexual violence, will speak on "Sexual Violence: A Personal & Professional Perspective" Wednesday, April 26 at 7 p.m. in Cofrin Hall, room 11. This event is free and open to the public. Plauche made national headlines in March 1984 when he was abducted by his karate teacher and sexually abused for a period of more than a year. FBI officials rescued Plauche and arrested his abductor. His story is one of survival and his message brings hope, especially to those victims and significant others of sexual violence. He joins St. Norbert College to share his story for change. Plauche will present on risk reduction, how to respond to a victim of sexual assault, his empowerment philosophy, myths of sexual assault and using men as allies. Following the presentation, there will be a candlelight march for healing and a reception at the St. Norbert College Women
