The Educator of the Year Award goes to someone who inspires and empowers students to learn, grow and develop confidence. They lead by example and live the mission of St. Norbert College. They encourage and motivate students through consistent feedback that helps students realize their full potential. They actively engage in and contribute to the college community above and beyond the call of duty by realizing their own gifts and sharing them with others.
"He inspires learning and growth by his honest enthusiasm for the subject he teaches. This enthusiasm for a new way of thinking makes the mind curious," said Francis Beaumier, a first year student at St. Norbert College, from Milwaukee, of Thomas Bolin, associate professor of Religious Studies.
"She has inspired me as a leader, and her words of wisdom would be my motivation for the rest of the day," said Amy Marie Winter, a first year student at St. Norbert College, from Sheboygan Falls, of Roxy Michiels, secretary in the Office of Residential Life.
The awards were presented at the 2006 Norbertine Leadership and Service Award ceremony on April 22.
