Sally Kellerman has been named the 2006 Civis Princeps Silver Knight Award winner at St. Norbert College. Kellerman will be honored at the De Pere Community Night dinner and award ceremony in the Sensenbrenner Memorial Union on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. The dinner is open to the public, and reservations must be made by Friday, Oct. 13. This year's award recipient, Sally Kellerman, has been a resident of De Pere for 75 years. She is a vital member of her church parish, Our Lady of Lourdes, where she has served as Eucharistic minister and greeter, distributed communion, and assisted with funeral services. She has also been active in the surrounding community in numerous ways, including working as an officer at the polls, delivering meals on wheels, and volunteering at hospitals, nursing homes and schools. The Silver Knight Award ceremony was initiated in 1967 by St. Norbert College president Dennis M. Burke, O.Praem., to acknowledge those people in our community who have gone the extra mile to make this a better world in which to live. De Pere Community Night recognizes a resident of De Pere who exemplifies the Norbertine tradition of self-emptying service to the community. The cost of the dinner is $17 per person. For more information or to make reservations, contact Timberly Kazmarek in the Office of Communications at St. Norbert College at (920) 403-3557. More information can be found online at http://www.snc.edu/communications/events/communitynight.html.
