St. Norbert College students will be holding an event, "Up 'til Dawn," to raise funds for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Students will be writing letters for contributions to fight against childhood cancer. The event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17, 6-10 p.m. at the St. Norbert College Ray Van Den Heuvel Family Campus Center. "Up 'til Dawn" is a student-led fundraising program that unites faculty, students, the community and sponsors in a goal to help the children of St. Jude's. St. Norbert College is in its third year of participating in this event. Last year the group wrote 16,742 letters and in the past two years they have raised a combined total of almost $100,000. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance. St. Jude's is financially supported by ALSAC, American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities, its fundraising organization. The event includes a speaker who was a patient at St. Jude's. There will also be interview opportunities with executive directors and other executive board members, the patient speaker and St. Jude representatives. For more information or to receive a donation letter, please contact Beth Kettenacker at beth.kettenacker@snc.edu or (920) 819-7754.
