St. Norbert Community Band to perform at Wisconsin State Music Conference

The St. Norbert Community Band has been selected to perform at the Wisconsin State Music Conference on Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. The performance will be held in the Monona Terrace in Madison. This will be the ensemble's fifth time performing at a major music convention. The group previously performed in 1998 and 2000 for the national convention of the Association of Concert Bands and in 1993 and 2001 for the Wisconsin State Music Conference. The concert ensemble draws performers from Milwaukee, Door County, the Lakeshore area and the greater Green Bay metropolitan area. The program will consist of the orchestral transcription of Raymond Overture, La Boda de Luis Alonso, Awayday, The R.A.F. March Past, Bravura March and the Shawl Dance. Frederick Schmidt, professor of music at St. Norbert College, will be conducting the concert. The St. Norbert College Music Department will host the same concert on Monday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Walter Theatre at St. Norbert College.
