St. Norbert College commemorates International Women's Day

On Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. in the Webb Theatre, Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, Alicia Partnoy, a political prisoner from Argentina, will lecture on "One Women, Writing, and the Disappeared of Latin America." This event is co-sponsored by the St. Norbert College Speaker's Committee, Peace and Justice Center and the Joan P. Schaupp Women's Center. The lecture commemorates International Women's Day. This event is free and open to the public. Open conversation and refreshment will follow the lecture. Partnoy spent two years in Argentine concentration camps after the overthrow of Juan Peron. As a politically active university student and young mother, she was abducted in 1977 by Argentina
