On Thursday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fort Howard Theater, Bemis International Center, the St. Norbert College Killeen Chair will host David Stevens who will present "The Land of Unlikeness: Explorations into Reconciliation." Admission is free and open to the public. Stevens has extensive experience in the practice of reconciliation in Northern Ireland. He is the leader of the Corrymeela Community, an ecumenical community of Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland, founded in 1965. He served as general secretary of the Irish Council of Churches from 1992-2003. Stevens is also a founding member of the Government's Standing Advisory Commission on Human Rights. Published work includes The Land of Unlikeness: Explorations into Reconciliation, which is based on his remarkable experiences in one of the most socially divided regions of the world. The Killeen Chair was established in 1984 in order to cultivate the College's and the public's awareness about current philosophical and theological issues. The organization prides itself on hosting internationally and nationally known philosophers who speak about relevant issues that impact society as a whole.
