Noted author, C. J. Hribal, will be the guest speaker at St. Norbert College's annual Literary Awards on Thursday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fort Howard Theater, Bemis International Center. He will be reading selections from his latest novel, "The Company Car" and will be available afterwards to sign books. Admission is free and open to the public. Hribal graduated from St. Norbert College in 1979 and is currently professor of English at Marquette University. He is the author of four works of fiction: "Matty's Heart," "American Beauty," "The Clouds in Memphis" and "The Company Car." Hribal received the Associated Writing Program Award for short fiction for "The Clouds in Memphis." Richard Russo writes, "ten pages into 'The Company Car' you know you're in the hands of a masterful storyteller. C. J. Hribal's characters are as real as anyone we know in 'real life,' and their story is the story of America on the brink of monumental change. The canvas is broad, the sights and sounds true, the vision both hilarious and heartbreaking." For more information, contact John Pennington at (920) 403-3147 or john.pennington@snc.edu.
